New I-9 Form Goes Into Effect

The new I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) is available. The new form, which is going into effect April 3, 2009, reflects the Department of Homeland Security’s amended regulations governing the types of acceptable documents and receipts that employees may present to their employers for employment authorization verification.

An updated version of the I-9 Handbook for Employers also has been released.
